Overview & Creation

Monks who follow this path begin to train their bodies to achieve an empowered state that can be entered by blending the natural energies of the world with one's ki, creating Sage Mode. Sage Mode allows users to tap into the natural force of the world, opening up new techniques to them and allowing them to power up existing ones with the new Sage Ki.

Subclass Options

Sage Mode

At 3rd level, upon choosing this subclass, you gain the ability to temporarily go into sage mode. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to go into sage mode and spend a number of ki points to gain the following:

  • Expend 1 ki point to add an extra Martial Arts die to all damage rolls for 1 minute.
  • Expend 1 ki point to grant a climb speed of 30ft and immunity to fall damage for 1 minute.
  • Expend up to your level in ki points to use hit dices on a 1-1 ratio to regain hit points.

Adept Sage

For every ki point over 1 you spend the level of the spell is higher.   Also when you reach 6th level you are an Adept Sage, you gain additional features. As a bonus action, or as part of the bonus action you take to activate Sage Mode, you gain these abilities for 10 minutes. It vanishes early if you are incapacitated or die.

This bonus lasts for 1 minute or until you use this feature again.
  • You gain the ability to see ki around you in a limited sense, you gain truesight up to 10ft around you.

Nexus of Ki

At 17th level, your body has virtually no limits anymore and you become one with the ki of the world. As an action, you regain all ki points spent and gain the following attributes for the next 30 minutes:
