Haldapuk — Pouch of Holding

Wondrous Item

Uncommon

  • Extradimensional
  • Action to store
  • Action to retrieve
  • Opening limitation
  • Magical retrieval
  • Astral rupture rules

This leather pouch is similar to a pouch from the side of a Handy Haversack. Its mouth can be opened to about 6 inches in diameter and cinched closed. Inside, the space is magically expanded. Its function is similar to a Bag of Holding but scaled down.

The pouch can hold up to 20 pounds of material, not exceeding 2 cubic feet in volume. Placing an object in the pouch requires an action. Retrieving an item from the pouch also requires an action. The magic of the pouch presents the chosen item to the user’s hand.

If the pouch is turned inside out, its contents spill forth, unharmed, and the pouch must be put right before it can be used again. If the pouch is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its contents are scattered in the Astral Plane.

If the pouch is placed inside another extradimensional space, such as a Bag of Holding, Handy Haversack, or Portable Hole, both items are destroyed and a gate to the Astral Plane is opened. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can nott be reopened
